Eligible postcodes for specified work: how to be sure

Updated 2026-06-16

The postcode where you physically work decides whether your days count, not the company's head-office address and not where you live. Eligible areas are defined as "regional Australia" for the visa, and the exact postcode ranges depend on the type of work (for example, some industries count in more areas than others).

Always check the official eligible-postcode list for your visa subclass and industry before you accept a job, and screenshot it on the day you start, the lists are updated and you want proof of the rule that applied to you.

Because the postcode is what counts, record the work site's postcode against each engagement, separate from the employer's registered address. Hello June stores the real work postcode per employer for exactly this reason.

FAQ

Does the employer's office postcode count?
No. What counts is the postcode where you physically did the work, such as the farm or the site.
